Created in 2003, the Metabolic Syndrome Institute is a non-profitable association under the French Act of 1st July 1901 and the decree of 16 August 1901.

The object of the Association is :

Collect, analyse and coordinate the most recent knowledge on the metabolic syndrome in order to increase knowledge on its diagnosis, its prevention and its treatment.
Contribute towards better care for patients: prevention, screening and treatment.
Promote the knowledge, in particular with health professionals, the general public, scientific societies, by all useful means: publications, lectures, training sessions, or any other appropriate means.
Undertake, develop and coordinate studies and research on the Metabolic Syndrome.

The Metabolic Syndrome Institute Executive Board

In accordance with the Association statutes, the Metabolic Syndrome Institute has designated an Executive Board of five members and has elected two Presidents.

Executive Board responsibilities :

Ensure the respect of the Association´s missions.
Define a development strategy.
Propose an action plan.

The Metabolic Syndrome Institute International Scientific Committee

The Scientific Committee is composed of multidisciplinary international experts in diabetes, heart disease, lipid metabolism, endocrinology, obesity and epidemiology basic research. The main role of the scientific members is to validate the content of the annual programme proposed by the Executive Board and to participate in its deployment and implementation. They will meet two times yearly to implement the working programme.
